Why Choose Linen Over Polyester?

We love linen because it feels like what it is — a natural fabric made from flax, designed to breathe, soften and live beautifully with you.

Unlike polyester, which is a synthetic fibre made from fossil-fuel-based materials, linen comes from a plant. It has a naturally textured feel, allows air to circulate and is wonderfully comfortable against the skin, especially on warm summer days.

Linen also has something we really value at Cloud and Cottage: it gets better with time.

With every wash and every wear, it becomes softer, more relaxed and more personal. The little wrinkles, the movement of the fabric, the slightly imperfect texture — that is all part of its charm.

Polyester can be practical, but it often traps more heat and moisture and can release tiny synthetic fibres during washing. Linen, on the other hand, is biodegradable when left untreated and made without synthetic blends, and it fits naturally into our idea of a slower, more thoughtful wardrobe.
