A Little Love for Your Linen ( How to Care For it)
Linen doesn’t need much. Just a little care, a little patience, and permission to be beautifully imperfect.
Wash your linen gently at around 30–40°C, using a mild detergent and avoiding harsh bleach. Give it some space in the washing machine so the fibres can move freely.
Whenever possible, let it air dry naturally. A soft breeze, a clothesline and a little sunshine are pretty much linen’s favourite things.
And the wrinkles? We say keep them.
That relaxed, slightly crumpled texture is part of linen’s charm. If you prefer a smoother look, iron or steam it while it is still slightly damp — but there is absolutely no need to make it perfectly crisp.
The loveliest thing about linen is that it gets softer and more beautiful with every wash and every wear.
So wear it often. Wash it gently. Let it wrinkle. Let it live.
Because linen was never meant to stay perfectly folded in a cupboard.
It was made for slow mornings, windy gardens, sandy feet, long lunches and all the lovely little messes of everyday life.
Care for it gently, and it will stay with you for years.
